Gwangju City Council Launches Personnel Hearings for Women's Foundation Head and Gwangju Technopark Director Gwangju City Council building.

The Gwangju City Council announced on September 7 that it had appointed the chairperson and vice chairperson of the Special Committee for Personnel Hearings (hereinafter referred to as the "Personnel Special Committee") for the heads of the Gwangju Women's Family Foundation and Gwangju Technopark on September 5, officially commencing its activities.


The Personnel Special Committee for the head of the Gwangju Women's Family Foundation consists of Chairperson Choi Jihyun, Vice Chairperson Lee Myeongno, as well as committee members Kim Nayoon, Park Heeyul, Seo Yonggyu, Lim Miran, and Jeong Daeun. For the Gwangju Technopark head, the Personnel Special Committee includes Chairperson Park Pilsun, Vice Chairperson Seo Imseok, and committee members Kang Suhun, Kim Yongim, Park Mijeong, Park Sugi, and Shim Changuk.


The Gwangju Women's Family Foundation was established in 2011 to develop policies for women and families, promote gender equality, and enhance welfare. Gwangju Technopark, established in 1998, is a leading regional institution that aims to create synergy through research and development and industrialization in collaboration with local venture small and medium-sized enterprises, universities, and other organizations.


Chairperson Choi Jihyun stated, "The Women's Family Foundation is taking the lead in creating a gender equality platform that resonates with the local community through various initiatives to enhance gender sensitivity," emphasizing, "We must proactively respond to changes in the policy environment and take a more active role in realizing a gender-equal Gwangju community."


Chairperson Park Pilsun said, "Technopark has a more important role than ever in fostering companies and creating jobs based on regional industrial innovation, such as nurturing the semiconductor industry and advancing AI-linked core industries."


The Personnel Special Committee plans to thoroughly verify the qualifications and capabilities of the candidates, with the goal of ensuring that individuals who can serve as a driving force for Gwangju's development are appointed, guided by a strong sense of mission and responsibility.


Meanwhile, once the final candidate for the head of the Gwangju Women's Family Foundation is nominated, the Personnel Special Committee will receive an institutional work report on September 12 and conduct a personnel hearing on September 25. The Personnel Special Committee for the head of Gwangju Technopark is scheduled to conduct its hearing procedures in October.
