A Cradle for Nurturing Entrepreneurial Talent in the Era of Industry-Academia Cooperation
The Department of Big Data Startup Business at Changwon National University held the "2025 Academic Year 2nd Semester Opening Ceremony" at the International Conference Room on the 6th, marking the start of the new semester.
The Department aims to nurture practical entrepreneurial talent equipped with startup capabilities and the ability to integrate across industries, enabling students to adapt efficiently in a globally competitive era.

The event began with an introduction by Secretary General Lee Sangcheol.
Department Chair Jeon Oesul stated, "Universities are now at the center of change, and industry-academia collaboration is becoming more active. Just as LG Electronics operates a research lab on campus, partnerships between companies and universities are a sign of the times. With the start of this new semester, I hope all members of the Department of Big Data Startup Business will boost their self-esteem and enjoy adapting to both their studies and daily life."
Student Association President Shim Hyunseong added, "The department will actively support all students so they can adapt healthily and devote themselves passionately to their studies."
The event was attended by the full faculty, including Myungkoo Lee (Business Analytics), Soonok Shin (Geomancy Application), Sooyong Sung (Startup Project), Hyunho Kim (Customer Satisfaction Service), Taekwang Heo (Commercial Area Analysis & Real Estate Investment), Yoonjae Cho (Storytelling Brand Strategy), Siyoung Cho (Distribution & Franchise Startup), Jieun Kim (SNS Online Startup), Gayoung Kim (Startup Items & Business Models), Woochul Jeong (Understanding & Operating Drones), Jongguk Ha (Startup Fundraising), Deoksu Kang (Business Plan Writing), Chaeyeon Lee (Communication Skills), and Sharon Kang (Presentation Skills).
In particular, Professor Jongguk Ha delivered a special lecture titled "A Completely Changed China," providing students with insights into the evolving global business environment.
Changwon National University plans to use the start of this semester as a springboard to accelerate the cultivation of startup professionals, strengthen connections with local industries, and revitalize the startup ecosystem. The university will continue to operate innovative entrepreneurship lectures, mentoring, and industry collaboration programs in connection with the National University Promotion Project.
Meanwhile, the Department of Big Data Startup Business will continue to recruit students through the lifelong learner and incumbent employee admissions tracks for the 2026 academic year. Detailed information on the admissions process will be available in the upcoming admissions guidelines.
