The Muan County Gugak Center, operated by Muan County in South Jeolla Province, launched its Haegum class on September 2.

According to the county on September 5, this course was designed to help residents access traditional music more easily and closely. It attracted significant attention from the recruitment stage and quickly reached full capacity.

The first session focused on the basic posture for the instrument and introductory bowing techniques. Participants were able to experience the charm of Korean traditional music firsthand and expressed a high level of satisfaction.

Kim San, the county governor, stated, "I hope this will be a great opportunity for residents to develop an interest in traditional arts," and added, "We will continue to provide a variety of cultural and artistic programs that are easily accessible to everyone, expanding opportunities for residents to enjoy culture."

In addition to the Haegum class, the Gugak Center offers various other traditional music courses, including Gayageum, Pansori, dance, Gobeop, and percussion. The center is expanding its programs so that all residents can participate.
