Hanwha General Insurance and Seoul City to Host "Seolleim, Book Night"
September 20 at Hanwha General Insurance Hannam Office
From Book Conversations to Dinner
February Event Resulted in 22 Couples
Hanwha General Insurance announced on August 10 that, together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, it will hold a singles event for young adults on September 20, designated as Youth Day, at the Hannam office building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The event is titled "Seolleim, Book Night." It is open to 100 unmarried men and women (50 men and 50 women) aged 25 to 45 (born between 1980 and 2000) who reside in Seoul and are economically active, such as office workers, self-employed individuals, or freelancers.
Applications can be submitted online via Seoul’s "Mongttang Information Master Key" platform from the day after this announcement until August 29. After a document screening, participants will be selected by random draw, and individual notifications will be sent out on September 5.
The event will take place on September 20 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concept is a library date where participants converse based on their reading preferences. Hanwha General Insurance will redecorate part of the fifth floor of the Hannam office to create an autumn library atmosphere and will fully cover all operating expenses.
Participants will engage in group activities based on book preferences, blind conversations, dinner time, and one-on-one in-depth discussions. In particular, the event will use signal tickets, which allow participants to express interest naturally during the program, and participant profile books, which help facilitate deeper conversations, to ease the awkwardness of first meetings.
After the program, participants will write down up to three people of the opposite sex whom they are interested in. If two people select each other, they become a couple.
Hanwha General Insurance will provide tickets to this year's Seoul International Fireworks Festival to all matched couples, helping them continue their relationships even after the event ends.
There will also be an event in collaboration with the content platform Signature Library. After applying for the main event, participants who verify their application at Signature Library will be eligible for a separate drawing to win department store gift certificates to prepare their date outfits. The prizes are: 300,000 won for first place (1 winner), 100,000 won for second place (3 winners), and 10,000 won as a participation support prize (30 winners).
This is the second singles event for young adults that Hanwha General Insurance is holding with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. At the "Seolleim Art Night" event held in February, 2,365 people applied, 100 participated, and 22 couples (44 people) were formed, resulting in a matching rate of 44%.
A representative from Hanwha General Insurance stated, "We planned this event with the text hip trend in mind, where young people share their own emotions and preferences through text," adding, "We aim to create positive and meaningful changes for young people."
