On July 15, Gwangju City announced that it will hold the 22nd Architecture·Urban Drawing Contest under the theme "What if Mudeungsan Became a Building?" on August 30 at the Citizens' Hall on the first floor of City Hall.

This contest has been organized to foster children's interest in architectural culture and to encourage their creative imagination. Children from kindergartens and elementary schools in the Gwangju area are eligible to participate, and applications will be accepted until August 22.

The contest is divided into three categories: kindergarteners, lower elementary grades (grades 1 to 3), and upper elementary grades (grades 4 to 6). Applications can be submitted via email through notices on the Gwangju City Architects Association website, and on-site registration will also be available on the day of the contest.

Participants are free to create works that fit the theme using their own drawing materials, while drawing paper will be provided on site. The city will also offer various hands-on programs, including architectural model making.

Jung Seungcheol, head of the Architectural Landscape Division, said, "I hope this contest will help children feel more familiar with architectural culture by thinking and expressing themselves, and that it will serve as an opportunity to broaden their imagination and understanding of urban spaces."
