Sharing Successful Cases such as the Hanam Dream Transfer-type Integrated Rest Area
Korea Expressway Corporation (EX) held a briefing session inviting companies to encourage private sector development of idle land near expressways. This move aims to actively promote a "private investment model" in which land and locations are provided by EX, while ideas and capital are contributed by the private sector.
On May 22, the corporation announced that it had hosted the "Highway Private Investment Project Development Briefing" at the EX-Smart Center in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, inviting 40 companies from the construction, logistics, rest area, and renewable energy sectors to discuss utilizing road assets.
During the briefing held the previous day, participants shared examples of utilizing idle expressway land, plans for upcoming development tenders, and an overview of projects scheduled for tender in 2025.

The corporation introduced successful cases such as the Hanam Dream transfer-type integrated rest area. In particular, EX disclosed the current status of its land holdings and explained specific development possibilities and business conditions.
EX also gathered feedback on private sector demand and constraints. The corporation conducted a survey of participating companies to collect opinions on business conditions, investment incentives, and suggestions for institutional improvements.
A corporation official stated, "We expect that private investment development projects will be revitalized through the creative ideas of the private sector in various new business fields," adding, "We will continue to communicate with the private sector to identify areas for improvement and do our best to ensure that industry opinions are reflected."
