A video featuring North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un was posted on a Bangladeshi YouTube channel, drawing attention. On the 3rd, a 1-minute video titled "Jong Eun, stop sending dirty balloons" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Team Azimkiya,' which has 200,000 subscribers. This channel's main content involves local men dancing and repeatedly reading messages requested by subscribers for a fee. It is essentially a "video letter for one person."
Within a week, four videos mentioning Chairman Kim were uploaded to the Team Azimkiya channel. These videos contained messages such as "I love Kim Jong-un. Don't press the red button," "Jong Eun, you are fat but cute," and "Jong Eun, stop firing missiles." It appears that netizens requested the production of these videos in response to North Korea's continued sending of dirty balloons to South Korea. In particular, the video titled "Jong Eun, stop sending dirty balloons" surpassed 440,000 views as of 8 a.m. on the 12th. Netizens who saw this reacted with comments like "I imagined broadcasting this with loudspeakers aimed at North Korea," "This video is creative. Who requested it?" and "The government should protect these people." Besides North Korea-related content, various phrases requested by domestic netizens are also posted on this channel.
Previously, North Korea released an estimated total of more than 1,600 large-scale dirty balloons in four rounds by the morning of the previous day. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education on the 11th, dirty balloons were found at six elementary and middle schools in Seoul’s Gwanak-gu, Nowon-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Seongdong-gu, and Jung-gu districts. Seoul city announced on the 11th that it is accepting reports to compensate citizens for damages caused by the dirty balloons. The city plans to support restoration or treatment costs for vehicle and home damages and will provide actual cost compensation from its own contingency funds after verification procedures.
On the 12th, there was also a case in Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, where a dirty balloon fell on a parked car, shattering the front windshield. The vehicle owner applied for coverage under their own vehicle damage insurance through their insurer. Of the approximately 530,000 KRW repair cost, the owner paid a 200,000 KRW deductible, and the insurer covered the remaining 330,000 KRW.
