"Working While Watching the Sea" Hanwha Hotels & Resorts Commercializes Products Amid 'Workation' Popularity Hanwha Resort Jeju Business Lounge.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hanwha Hotels & Resorts announced on the 23rd that it has introduced workation (Work+Vacation), allowing employees to work and relax simultaneously at vacation spots instead of at home or the office, receiving positive responses within the company. Starting with Jeju, the company will also actively commercialize workation products at major tourist destinations nationwide.

Hanwha Hotels & Resorts is building a smart work system to adapt to changing trends in work locations and methods after COVID-19. Last year, it introduced a flexible seating system, casual dress code, permanent remote work, and a nickname calling system, and also launched workation allowing employees to work at their desired business locations. Since last summer, workation applicants have been able to work at resorts and hotels nationwide with support for one room for up to five days, round-trip transportation costs, and partial meal expenses.

According to a workation satisfaction survey conducted by the company, 95% of respondents said their work concentration and efficiency were higher than during remote work. They also reported that it greatly helped them recharge. Hanwha Hotels & Resorts plans to continue encouraging self-directed work performance in line with changing employee work trends following the spread of COVID-19.

Hanwha Hotels & Resorts is also launching products that allow general customers to use workation. Hanwha Resort Jeju, riding on the popularity of long-term stay products last year, officially launched workation products this year by creating a business lounge and adding healing programs beyond work. To enjoy during non-working hours, various benefits such as yoga programs, trekking programs, horseback riding experiences, golf courses, therapy, sauna, breakfast buffet, park garden, and rental car discounts are additionally provided. Popular nearby tourist attractions such as Aqua Planet Jeju, Snoopy Garden, and Surprise Theme Park are also available at discounted prices.

Hanwha Hotels & Resorts stated, "We aim to change the way of working and improve work satisfaction through working at resorts and hotels in major tourist destinations nationwide such as Busan, Jeju, Yeosu, and Seorak," adding, "We plan to introduce various additional products for external customers as well."
