[Exclusive] Bundles of Cash Worth Tens of Millions Found at Seoul Subway Station

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A bundle of cash worth tens of millions of won was found near a Seoul subway station, and the police are looking for the owner.

According to the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul, at around 8:35 p.m. on the 3rd, an envelope containing about 30 million won in cash was found in front of an exit of Mullae Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu.

On that day, two citizens, including Mr. Noh (60), who were passing by, found the cash envelope soaked from the rain and reported the find to a nearby police substation.

The envelope reportedly contained hundreds of 50,000-won and 10,000-won bills mixed together.

A police official explained, "So far, no report has been received about losing the amount of cash."

According to the current Lost Property Act, if the owner does not appear within six months after reporting the lost item, ownership is recognized for the person who found the item.
