[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Miryang City introduced three famous spots in Miryang, Gyeongnam, where you can fully enjoy the atmosphere of May, the season of roses.

In Miryang, after the cherry blossoms in Samrangjin and the canola flowers in Sammundong in March, azaleas on Jognamsan and Chinese fringe trees at Wiyangji bloom in April. Moving into May, green barley and poppies along Chodongyeonggil bloom in succession. Now, the roses have taken the baton, showing off their beautiful appearance.

▲ Miryanggang Riverside Rose Garden

At the Miryanggang Riverside Rose Garden in Sammundong, Miryang, 27 varieties including 'Tropische', 'Four Seasons Rose', and 'Angela', totaling 30,000 rose plants, are in full bloom.

The rose garden, originally 3,530㎡ in area, was expanded by 2,032㎡ last year to plant a wider variety of roses. Located along the beautiful Miryanggang riverside, it is a popular walking course for citizens.

The colorful and variously sized roses have filled the void left after the cherry blossoms and canola flowers that bloomed profusely along the Sammundong riverside have withered.

▲ Sangdong-myeon Rose Road

Sangdong-myeon Rose Road is divided into three main courses. The first is a 2 km section of Provincial Road 11, the second is a 2.8 km section from Anin Bridge to Sinan Village embankment, and the third is a 1.8 km section along the Kumho embankment by the Miryang River.

The colorful roses in yellow, pink, red, and more, blooming under the May sunshine, offer both fragrance and visual pleasure to families, couples, and residents passing through. The quiet embankment road is suitable for the non-face-to-face era as visitors can enjoy the roses slowly while driving along the roadside without needing to get out of the car.

▲ Riverside Embankment Road Rose Path in Gagok-dong

Along the 2 km roadside section from Yongdu Bridge in Gagok-dong to Miryang Station transfer parking lot, red roses stretch continuously. About 1,900 rose plants blooming on the Gagok-dong riverside embankment have been planted and maintained by the Gagok-dong Administrative Welfare Center since 2019.

Every year around this time, the abundant flowers beautify the city and catch the eyes of citizens. Being near Miryang Station, it is also popular among tourists coming from outside.
