COWON Signs Publishing Contract for Mobile Baseball Game '9M Pro Baseball'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] COWON, a game publishing specialist company (formerly NesM), announced on the 2nd that it is teaming up with the developer NineM Interactive to challenge the domestic mobile professional baseball game market.

COWON announced on the 2nd that it has signed a publishing contract for '9M PROBASEBALL,' developed by the renowned domestic sports game company NineM Interactive.

'9M PROBASEBALL' is a full 3D baseball game boasting the best graphics and gameplay that feels like watching a real game. The core development team behind 'Ultimate Tennis,' which has achieved 20 million global cumulative downloads, participated in its development. Players can enjoy a highly immersive game experience, from pitching a single ball as a pitcher to feeling the refreshing hitting sensation as a batter. '9M PROBASEBALL' offers game modes that satisfy everyone, from a simulation mode that is easy for beginners to enjoy to in-depth direct play for baseball fans.

COWON is building its publishing lineup with titles like 'Fortress V2' and 'Dragon Raja EX,' and will introduce '9M PROBASEBALL' with a new look in the first half of 2021. Through its publishing business, COWON is discovering IP games, sports games, and promising new games, aiming to establish itself as a mid-sized publisher by signing publishing contracts with domestic game companies that have game development capabilities and growth potential.

Lee Seunghoon, CEO of COWON, said, “As a long-time hardcore fan of Korea’s top sport, baseball, I have great expectations to work with 9M PROBASEBALL. We will make great efforts to grow it into Korea’s representative baseball game together with NineM Interactive, which has a high understanding and technical skills in sports game development. We also look forward to synergy with our specialized sports platform ‘Spot,’ which we are publishing.”

Kim Sunghoon, CEO of NineM Interactive, stated, “It is hard to find a company in Korea that makes sports games as well as NineM Interactive. Our goal is to establish ourselves as a rising power in mobile baseball games, and we will strive to show what high-quality baseball games using Unreal Engine are.”

Meanwhile, '9M PROBASEBALL' is expected to be newly introduced to domestic baseball fans in early April through the publishing collaboration between NineM Interactive and COWON.
