"Pop Quiz Also via Naver Band" Strengthening Remote Class Features

"Pop Quiz Also via Naver Band" Strengthening Remote Class Features

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver Band announced on the 15th that it has added features utilized for remote classes.

Since last year, Naver Band has improved key functions such as a children-only band, exam creation, health questionnaire management, and interactive classes.

For the 'Kids Service' designed for users under 13 years old, exposure to unspecified public bands or content is prevented, and advertising and recommendation features are not provided. When creating a band, simply set it as a 'Children's Band' and invite members.

The 'Quiz' feature allows everything from simple pop quizzes to assignment submission and evaluation. It supports multiple-choice exams as well as short-answer subjective and descriptive assignments, enabling diverse use depending on the subject. The company explained that multiple-choice questions are automatically graded based on pre-entered answers, which is expected to reduce teachers' workload.

Naver will support a survey feature starting from the 16th. Various surveys can be easily conducted targeting band members. This helps monitor and manage students' health status amid the expected continuation of combined remote and home education. Survey statistics allow viewing the percentage of each response and subjective answers all at once, enabling regular monitoring of class status.

The 'Video Call' feature will be available on PC starting from the 24th. The number of participants will also increase from 30 to 50. It supports both 'Focus View' mode, which highlights one person, and 'Split View' mode, which shows multiple people simultaneously, allowing flexible use tailored to various educational environments from teacher-led classes to group discussions.

Kim Jungmi, the lead manager of Band, stated, "Naver Band safely supported remote education last year, recording a cumulative 78,000 new bands opened for the new semester and 1.35 million subscribers, receiving great response from the education field. This year, we will further closely support education sites with new features quickly reflecting feedback from active teachers."
