Infection During a Meal with an Acquaintance While Working from Home
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A lawyer affiliated with Kim & Chang, the largest law firm in Korea, tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on the 27th.
According to the legal community on the 28th, lawyer A of Kim & Chang, who tested positive, had been working from home since the afternoon of the 21st and underwent testing on the 26th.
It is known that lawyer A was infected during a meal with an acquaintance.
Since the positive diagnosis occurred during remote work, it is reported that there were not many contacts. Kim & Chang sent home employees working at the Northgate Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where lawyer A was based, and also conducted disinfection of the building.
Lawyer A is reported not to have been involved in duties requiring visits to courts or prosecutors' offices.
Kim & Chang plans to have the remaining employees return to normal work from the 31st, unless there is a special reason following the epidemiological investigation by health authorities.
