Innovation Party: "PPP, Hypocritical"
On the 16th, the Democratic Party of Korea said to the People Power Party regarding real estate policy, "Stop asking about the President's position and first clarify the position of your multi-home-owning leader Jang Donghyuk, who owns six homes."
Floor spokesperson Kim Hyunjung said in a commentary that "the public is more curious about what has happened to Leader Jang's six homes than about President Lee Jaemyung's single apartment in Bundang," making this point.
He said, "The government's goal is clear. It is not to treat the market as an enemy, but to correct the structures that distort the market," adding, "In step with the government's real estate stabilization measures, the Democratic Party will do its utmost to handle related legislation, including the bill to establish a Real Estate Supervisory Service."
The Cho Kuk Innovation Party also criticized the People Power Party, saying it is "turning its back on policy and focusing solely on attacks on the President." In a commentary, deputy spokesperson Lee Jongpil said, "Arguments along the lines of 'you sell your house first' blur the essence of structural reform and shift the frame by reducing the issue to an individual problem," and added, "The People Power Party is hiding the essence behind the slogan of 'hypocrisy' and dragging the matter into a political fight."
Party leader Cho Kuk also reiterated the need for the 'public concept of land ownership' by sharing on his social networking service (SNS) Facebook the section of his book "Cho Kuk's Choice" that deals with housing measures for young people. He wrote, "As part of public concept of land ownership policies, we must massively supply high-quality public rental housing so that not only are young people's immediate housing costs reduced, but their disposable income and savings increase, thereby moving up the time when they can purchase their own homes and raising their chances of doing so."
