Recently, the Channel A current affairs and culture program "The Secret of Survival" aired an episode titled "The Unexpected Profession of 75-Year-Old Jeong Soon, Who Overcame Colon Cancer and Thyroid Cancer."
The main character of the broadcast was Lee Jeongsun, a 75-year-old delivery driver with 26 years of experience, who was revealed to be Bae Yoonjung's mother. On the show, Lee shared, "I underwent surgeries for colon cancer and thyroid cancer," and recounted her two-decade-long battle with illness.
Twenty years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and endured six months of chemotherapy as well as a colon resection surgery. Although she was declared cured, she revealed that three years ago she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
Currently, she starts her day at 4 a.m., taking the first bus to work as a delivery driver, handing over vehicles to customers. Lee explained, "When a customer purchases a car, I deliver it to them myself."
After the broadcast, Bae Yoonjung posted a screenshot from the show on her social media, writing, "Mom, when did you film this? My mom is suddenly appearing on TV by herself. Please go watch it." She added, "She's my mom, but after undergoing two cancer surgeries and working for 26 years, I respect and admire her so much."
Meanwhile, Bae Yoonjung has been in charge of choreography for various girl groups, including Kara, Brown Eyed Girls, and T-ara. She is currently the CEO of Yama & Hotchicks.
