On November 28, the city of Icheon in Gyeonggi Province announced that it had been selected as an outstanding institution in the "2025 Construction Administration Integrity Assessment" conducted by Gyeonggi Province.
This assessment is a comprehensive system that reviews 53 criteria, including the implementation of Gyeonggi Province’s key policies related to construction administration, city and county-specific plans, permit processing, and actual conditions.
The city explained that it received high marks for its communication and collaboration-focused administration, including support projects for Hanok construction, maintenance and inspection of public open spaces, free on-site safety inspections for small, aging homes, quarterly meetings with local architects, and workshops for public officials handling construction-related civil complaints.
Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "We will continue to work together with citizens and local architects to provide safe and trustworthy construction administration services."
