On November 28, President Lee wrote on Facebook, "A large apartment fire in Hong Kong has resulted in numerous casualties. Not only the Republic of Korea, but the entire world is engulfed in deep sorrow," he wrote.

He continued, "I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in this accident and offer my sincere condolences to the bereaved families."

Additionally, President Lee stated, "I extend my condolences to everyone affected, and in a spirit of solidarity, I hope for a swift recovery and restoration. I also express my deep respect for the hundreds of rescue workers and volunteers who are risking their lives at the scene to save others."

President Lee added, "Once again, I earnestly wish for the speedy recovery of the injured and the safe return of those who are missing."

Meanwhile, as of the morning of November 28, the third day since the fire broke out at a high-rise apartment complex in Hong Kong, the death toll has reached around 100. The number of fatalities is estimated to be rising as firefighters on the scene expand their search to the upper floors. Hong Kong police are investigating the cause of the fire and have arrested construction company executives on charges of manslaughter related to the apartment's repair work, which has been identified as the likely cause of the fire.

According to Reuters, the Associated Press, the South China Morning Post (SCMP), and Sing Tao Daily, as of 6:38 a.m. on November 28, a total of 94 people had been confirmed dead in the fire at Wong Fuk Court, a 32-story residential high-rise in the Tai Po district of northern Hong Kong. Among the deceased was one firefighter who died in the line of duty.
