Results of the 2025 Bicycle Usage Promotion Policy Evaluation
Guri City Wins Excellence Award... Achieves Distinction for Three Consecutive Years
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on the 28th that it received the Excellence Award in the "2025 Bicycle Usage Promotion Policy City and County Evaluation (Group C)" conducted by Gyeonggi Province and announced on the 25th. With this, Guri City has achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years.
The Bicycle Usage Promotion Policy City and County Evaluation assesses a total of 17 indicators, including bicycle accident countermeasures, maintenance and management of bicycle paths, and policies to promote bicycle usage, targeting 31 cities and counties within Gyeonggi Province. Excellent institutions are selected in three groups according to population size: Group A (over 500,000), Group B (over 200,000), and Group C (under 200,000).
Guri City implemented a variety of policies, such as operating citizen bicycle safety personnel, renovating aging bicycle roads such as Beolmal-ro, and providing bicycle insurance for citizens. The city received high marks in the areas of accident prevention safety measures, establishing a foundation for accident prevention, and spreading a culture of bicycle usage.
Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that citizens can use bicycles safely," and added, "We will further strengthen our efforts to develop various policies to promote a culture of bicycle usage in Guri City."
