This meeting was organized to promote tailored regulatory innovation that can be directly felt by businesses on-site.
Gijang County has been continuing on-site meetings by major industrial complex regions, and this session marks the second following a company visit in Jeonggwan-eup in October.
Attendees included representatives from major companies located in the Jangan, Banryong, and Giryong industrial complexes in Jangan-eup, as well as officials from industrial complex management organizations.
Governor Jung Jongbok listened to a variety of opinions, including the identification of laws and systems that restrict corporate activities, improvements to licensing procedures, expanded administrative support for environmental and safety sectors, and enhancements to infrastructure to promote investment.
The county plans to review the suggestions raised during the meeting from legal and institutional perspectives and seek solutions, while also actively reflecting practical issues in county administration such as improving residential conditions for young workers, expanding public transportation, and increasing the capacity of public wastewater treatment facilities in the industrial complexes.
Governor Jung stated, "Regulatory innovation does not begin with complicated institutional reform, but by first resolving the small inconveniences experienced by companies and workers." He added, "We will focus on on-site feedback to revise unreasonable regulations and enhance the competitiveness of local businesses through proactive administration." He further emphasized, "We will continue to maintain a business-friendly county administration by working closely with related organizations such as Busan City."
Gijang County plans to continue these on-site visits by region, including a visit to the Myeongnye General Industrial Complex in January next year to listen to the difficulties faced by companies.
