Mayor Meets Seojeong University Entrusted Students to Hear Insights from the Lifelong Education Field

Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) visited the Nokyang Entrusted Training Center (110 Biuro, Room 502) on November 26 to inspect the operation of the university-entrusted education program, which is being promoted to expand learning opportunities for local employees and strengthen the foundation for lifelong education. The visit was also intended to encourage adult learners who are balancing both work and study.

On that day, Mayor Kim Donggeun met with 26 students from the Seojeong University industry-entrusted education program, listened to their motivations for participating in the program, and heard about the challenges they face in the field, fostering open communication. Currently, students from the Department of Social Welfare Counseling (supervised by Professor Lee Kyungja) are participating in this entrusted education program.


The Seojeong University industry-entrusted education program offers employees the opportunity to earn an associate degree and contributes to nurturing practical talents required in the local industrial sector.


Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "Balancing work and academic pursuits is never an easy task, but your passion and dedication are invaluable assets to our community. We will continue to support your growth and challenges and will faithfully back necessary education and employment support policies."

The city plans to continue expanding lifelong learning opportunities for citizens by cooperating with local universities and educational institutions to create employee-friendly educational environments and broaden job competency training programs.
