More than 80 people, including members of the Gijang County Women's Association Council, participated in the event, carefully preparing about 700 heads of kimchi, which were then delivered to vulnerable groups in the local community.
On the first day of the event, November 24, participants prepared the seasoning with the ingredients provided. On November 25, they completed the kimchi mixing and packaging, and the finished kimchi was delivered to 250 households in need-including basic livelihood security recipients, those just above the poverty line, and elderly people living alone-through the township and town administrative welfare centers.
Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "I am deeply grateful to the members of the Women's Association who actively participate in the kimchi sharing event every year," adding, "I hope that the kimchi made with care will help our neighbors in need have a warm winter."
Every year at the end of November, Gijang County continues the culture of sharing in the local community by making kimchi with the Women's Association Council and delivering it to vulnerable groups.
