Haenam County in South Jeolla Province announced on November 27 that it had won the Grand Prize in the Instagram Basic Local Government (County) category at the '2025 SNS Awards'.
The SNS Awards, organized by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, is a nationwide event that evaluates the level of social media utilization by public institutions and local governments, presenting awards in various categories. The event is held annually with the aim of strengthening administrative communication based on social media.

From 2019 to 2024, Haenam County was recognized five times in the Facebook category (one Grand Prize and four Excellence Awards), consistently demonstrating its strengths in social media-driven administration.
This year, the county's content strategy focused on Instagram Reels received high marks, earning it the Grand Prize. Friendly video content aimed at engaging younger audiences was credited with improving the efficiency of delivering administrative information.
The county produces a wide range of content, from policy information to daily life and cultural news, mainly through its official blog, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. By adopting popular formats such as video webtoons, sketch comedies, and Reels that reflect the latest social media trends, Haenam County has increased viewer engagement and strengthened its content competitiveness.
A county official stated, "Winning the Grand Prize at the SNS Awards is a testament to Haenam County's communication efforts being recognized nationwide," adding, "We will continue to pursue open governance, creating Haenam's story together with our residents."
