Paramedics from the Daejeon Fire Headquarters achieved the distinction of winning awards in all categories at a leading firefighting competition, which is held annually to enhance the expertise and training systems of 119 paramedics nationwide.


Daejeon Fire Headquarters was recognized nationwide for its field response capabilities and emergency medical training expertise, as it received awards in both the 7th "119 Emergency Activity Competition" and the "Emergency Medical Instructor Lecture Contest" hosted by the National Fire Agency.


This year’s competition took place on November 24 and 26 at Lotte Resort in Buyeo and is a flagship event in the firefighting sector, held annually to improve the professionalism of 119 paramedics and strengthen educational systems across the country.

The "119 Emergency Activity Competition" featured 99 paramedics from across the country, who were evaluated in four categories, including pediatric CPR. Three paramedics from Daejeon participated and achieved outstanding results: Firefighter Yoon Donghui placed 3rd nationwide (Minister of the Interior and Safety Award), Firefighter Lim Yunho placed 9th nationwide (National Fire Agency Award), and Fire Sergeant Park Chanwook placed 16th nationwide (National Fire Agency Award).


In addition, at the "Emergency Medical Instructor Lecture Contest," where 19 teams selected from city and provincial fire headquarters competed, the Daejeon Fire Headquarters team (Lieutenant Yeom Donghyuk, Lieutenant Kim Youngchan, Fire Sergeant Kang Youngseok, and Firefighter Jeon Sunwoo) advanced to the finals and won the Encouragement Award.


Kim Moonyong, Chief of Daejeon Fire Headquarters, stated, "This achievement is the result of the skills our paramedics in Daejeon have honed to protect the lives of citizens," adding, "We will continue to strengthen professional training and practical abilities to provide even more trusted emergency medical services to the public."
