[Image Diary] A Name That Did Not Travel Far

[Image Diary] A Name That Did Not Travel Far

For a long time, there was another word that always came before fried food. Authorities instructed people not to use that word in front of food names. They said it was because Korea was no longer a pristine country, and foreigners might misunderstand it as an actual ingredient. Words tend to lose their weight when overused, but in this case, the word became rigid through misuse. The name did not travel far, but the taste of fried food remains unchanged. (Jongno, Seoul)
