This program is part of the Specialized Vocational High School Workforce Development Project for small and medium-sized enterprises, and aims to strengthen students' global awareness and employability. Led by Vice Principal Lee Deokhyo, 13 students and 3 teachers participated in the program.
The three-day, two-night field trip was designed as a comprehensive experiential learning program, not only facilitating exchanges between schools but also deepening understanding of Taiwan's mobility and cutting-edge industries, which are based on small and medium-sized enterprises.
On the first day, the group officially visited National Taoyuan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational Senior High School, where they participated in an "Offline Class Linked by Pre-Zoom Sessions" and engaged in cultural exchange activities. On the second day, they visited the Taiwan Power Company Northern Exhibition Hall to understand the power infrastructure, and then visited GWinstek, a leading company in advanced measuring instruments, to learn about industrial technology trends. On the third day, the group visited Taipower D/S ONE to observe the smart grid and energy solutions sector and gained in-depth insights into the trends of future industries.
In particular, the core of this international exchange was the partnership program with National Taoyuan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational Senior High School in Taiwan.
Upon arriving at National Taoyuan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational Senior High School, students from Uijeongbu Technical High School were officially welcomed by the host school. Starting at 2 p.m., students from the Department of Electricity and the Department of Electronics participated in "Global Buddy Classes," where each student was paired one-on-one with a Taiwanese buddy to attend classes in their respective departments. Through this process, students from both countries had a valuable opportunity to compare the contents of vocational education and broaden their perspectives on their fields of study.
Kim Taeyun, a student from Uijeongbu Technical High School who participated in the exchange, said, "It was very meaningful to be able to join the Department of Electricity class together with Taiwanese friends whom I had met in advance through Zoom sessions. Experiencing classes side by side with students from another country and communicating with them greatly enhanced my global awareness, and it was a special experience to connect through technology and our majors beyond language barriers. This opportunity has made my dream of becoming a global leader in the K-Mobility sector even more concrete."
Vice Principal Lee Deokhyo, who led the exchange, stated, "This exchange with National Taoyuan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational Senior High School is a strategic stepping stone for students to acquire the global competencies they need at the center of school transformation. Based on the similarities in the schools' founding purposes and departmental structures, we will continue to promote joint projects in the future and spare no effort to support our students so they can grow on the global stage."
Meanwhile, Uijeongbu Technical High School will be transformed into Korea Mobility High School starting in 2026, preparing for a bold leap forward with its new vision of "TACK the Future" and the educational goal of "Fostering Global Leaders in K-Mobility." The school plans to use this exchange with National Taoyuan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational Senior High School as an opportunity to expand its international cooperation network in technical education and further strengthen the global field learning and employment foundation for its students.
