This year, the foundation introduced new categories in its selection process to provide opportunities to a wider range of students. These included the 'Dream Support Essay Contest' for students who have received scholarships in the past two years, and a special selection track for 'Arts and Sports Talents' to support high school students who have won awards in arts or sports.

The foundation selected 120 university students, 18 high school students, and 5 out-of-school youths as scholarship recipients. University students received 2 million won each, while the others received 700,000 won each.

The award ceremony was attended by over 100 people, including Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu District, scholarship recipients, and their parents. The event included a video sharing of student activities, declarations of dreams by the scholarship recipients, and a scholarship donation ceremony.

In particular, Yoon Poongsik, Chairman of Kukmin Corporation, added significance to the event by donating 30 million won at the donation ceremony, stating, "It is only natural for companies to return their profits to society."

Chairman Park Changap said, "I hope that the warmth you received today will one day be shared with your juniors," adding, "Going forward, the Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation will continue to support each and every student so that they can pursue their dreams."

Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu District, stated, "The dreams of local talent are the future of Seo-gu, and the growth of local talent is the growth of Seo-gu itself. I hope you take pride in your achievements today and boldly step into a wider world."

Since its establishment in 2015, the foundation has provided more than 1.2 billion won in academic excellence scholarships, talent scholarships, happiness scholarships, and special scholarships to over 1,000 students in the district.
