Building a High-Performance AI Research Infrastructure
Sejong University announced on November 26 that it has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) education and research infrastructure by introducing 30 units of the NVIDIA DGX SPARK as part of the 'Software-Centered University Project' led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).
This equipment introduction aims to strengthen AI practice-oriented education at the undergraduate level as a software-centered university and to lay the foundation for developing an AI-integrated education system in the future.
The DGX SPARK is a compact AI supercomputing device that delivers data center-level performance in a desktop environment. It is optimized for advanced AI research and educational practice, including large language models (LLM), generative AI, and high-performance computing (HPC).
Song Oyong, Director of the Software-Centered University Project at Sejong University, stated, "This infrastructure expansion will serve as an important foundation for fostering K-Culture professionals with integrated software and AI expertise, which Sejong University is currently pursuing. We will promote joint industry-academic-research projects that combine AI and software to nurture practical talent focused on industry needs."
Meanwhile, Sejong University was reselected for the Software-Centered University Project in 2024 and is expanding its AI micro-degree curriculum, hands-on training environment based at the Daeyang AI Center, and industry-academic joint project platform under the vision of cultivating specialized, convergent talent with software and AI capabilities linked to K-Culture.
