Jangheung County in Jeonnam has organized a year-end event to promote participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program. The county announced on the 14th that it will run the "Share Love, Add Benefits" donation event for one month starting from the 15th.
This initiative aims to increase donation participation during the year-end tax settlement season. During the event period, a total of 550 donors to Jangheung County will be selected by lottery to receive Naver Pay point coupons. Fifty people will receive coupons worth 10,000 won each, and 500 people will receive coupons worth 5,000 won each. Winners will be notified individually.
The county emphasized that the donations are used to improve the welfare of residents and revitalize the local economy, and stated that it plans to use this event to broaden public understanding of the purpose of the Hometown Love Donation Program.
The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won per year to local governments other than their place of residence. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully eligible for tax credits, and amounts exceeding that receive a 16.5% tax credit. Donors can also receive local specialty products and other gifts in return, up to 30% of the donation amount.
