Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is holding a 5% cashback event for its local currency, Suwon Pay.
On November 14, Suwon City announced that it will host the "Suwon Pay 5% Cashback Event" from November 17 to December 31.
Customers who make payments using Suwon Pay recharge funds will receive a 5% cashback, with a maximum payout of 50,000 won per person. The event will end once the allocated budget is exhausted. Cashback received during the event period can be used until March next year.
Suwon City was selected as an outstanding local government for its local gift certificate program, which enabled it to secure additional national funding and proceed with the cashback event.
An official from Suwon City stated, "We hope that the Suwon Pay 5% cashback event will boost spending and help revitalize the local economy."
