Recognized for Enhancing the Value of K-Fashion Brands
Seizure of Approximately 30,000 Counterfeit Items in China
The Korea Fashion Association announced on the 13th that its Fashion IP Center received the “Award from the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency” at the “2025 Trademark Dispute Response Conference,” hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and organized by the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency.
Since its launch on June 4 of last year, the Fashion IP Center has led efforts to strengthen the intellectual property foundation of the domestic fashion industry and establish a protection system within the industry structure.
The Fashion IP Center has blocked more than 12,140 counterfeit products distributed online through AI-based online monitoring. It has also supported K-fashion brands with customized consulting for each brand, including domestic and international trademark pre-screening, trademark application and registration, filing oppositions against prior trademarks, and sending warning letters, thereby assisting with IP protection and legal response strategies.

In the Chinese market, criminal crackdowns led to the seizure of approximately 30,000 counterfeit items in China. Additionally, to eradicate counterfeit goods and promote ethical consumption, the Center has strengthened social media promotion by producing content such as card news and short-form videos, and has shared IP information through educational programs and seminars.
Sung Raeun, President of the Korea Fashion Association, stated, “This award is a meaningful recognition that the fashion industry is evolving beyond a simple design industry into a high value-added sector based on intellectual property. We will continue to drive innovation across the entire industry ecosystem so that K-fashion can grow in the global market with a focus on brand assets and IP.”
