Through this agreement, the city aims to drive innovation in city management using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and to establish a sustainable investment foundation by attracting global companies.
The signing ceremony, held at the Hoeryong Hall in City Hall, was attended by Mayor Kim Donggeun, David Sprinzen, Senior Vice President of VANTIQ, Lee Hyeonggeun, Head of Korea Branch, Kim Junseong, Executive Director of Etiverse Co., Ltd., and a total of 11 related officials.
The main points of the agreement include: the establishment of VANTIQ’s Korean subsidiary and the creation of an AI technology and investment hub; attracting domestic and international companies and investment cooperation utilizing the global networks of Etiverse and VANTIQ; promoting private investment-driven demonstration projects in advanced industries such as AI, smart cities, and digital health; and enhancing operational efficiency of urban infrastructure such as transportation, energy, and environment through real-time integration and AI-based management.
In particular, this agreement marks the first time that global company VANTIQ and domestic partner Etiverse Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement with a local government in Korea, and it is expected to serve as a starting point for incorporating an AI-based global cooperation model into public administration.
Building on this agreement, the city plans to establish a virtuous cycle that connects AI demonstration projects to global investment attraction, and to support innovative companies like VANTIQ in establishing a presence in Uijeongbu. In particular, by combining AI technology-based city management systems with investment attraction strategies, the city will expand its collaborative network with domestic and international companies and continue to grow as an AI-powered future city.
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "This agreement is a crucial step in transforming the paradigm of city management based on AI and real-time data technology," adding, "We will develop Uijeongbu into a city where technology and business grow together, innovation becomes part of daily life, and we lead the way as a smart city of the future."
Meanwhile, VANTIQ is a global AI platform company headquartered in Walnut Creek, California, USA, providing solutions that optimize the operational efficiency of cities and industries through real-time data and event-driven AI technology.
