On November 12, Seongnam Mayor Shin Sangjin attended the 'Luxury Tancheon Guardians Launch Ceremony' held along the banks of Tancheon.

This launch event was organized to establish a sustainable management system for Tancheon through cooperation between the public sector, private organizations, and businesses. More than 300 people attended, including Mayor Shin, members of the ESG Activation Committee, representatives of ESG participating companies, and Luxury Tancheon Guardians.

The event included the presentation of appointment certificates to 50 district representatives of the Tancheon Guardians, the awarding of ESG Tancheon Ownership Company certificates to KT and Hanwha Vision, a greeting from the mayor, a commemorative photo session, and a Tancheon cleanup activity.

In his greeting, Mayor Shin stated, "It is impossible to manage and maintain this precious place of rest for citizens by administrative power alone," adding, "Today's launch ceremony was organized so that we can protect Tancheon together with all of you."

He continued, "Since taking office as mayor, we have gradually dredged sediment throughout the entire Tancheon area to ensure smooth water flow and improve water quality. Going forward, together with all of you guardians, we will continue to develop Tancheon into a luxury space where citizens can relax and enjoy a variety of recreational sports."

In September, Seongnam City announced its vision of becoming an 'ESG Special City Seongnam' and has since been promoting ESG initiatives, including Tancheon cleanup activities.
