In particular, the county has recently been busy visiting the National Assembly and central government ministries to secure national and provincial funds and grants, while also focusing on on-site public administration and preparing for winter disasters. Amidst this busy schedule, the governor held a lunch meeting with working-level staff, fostering an open atmosphere for discussion, which drew attention.
The meeting featured broad discussions on the key directions for next year’s budget, including strengthening fiscal soundness, restructuring unnecessary expenditures, and focusing investments on livelihood and safety sectors.
Governor Jo Sangrae emphasized, "The budget serves as a compass for designing Gokseong’s year, and it should be centered on projects that provide real benefits to residents," adding, "We must prioritize on-site administration and execution to ensure budget operations that residents can truly feel."
He further stated, "We should boldly adjust any non-essential budget items and provide thorough explanations with logical evidence and supporting data during the county council’s review process."
Meanwhile, Gokseong County plans to submit the budget proposal to the county council by November 21, reflecting the outcomes of this meeting, and aims to finalize the budget through a council resolution in December.
