The mobile healthcare program is a public health management service based on information and communication technology (ICT). By integrating the mobile health management application (Chaeum Health) with an activity tracker, public health center professionals-nurses, nutritionists, and exercise specialists-monitored participants’ lifestyle habits online and helped them develop healthy routines through a 24-week personalized health management program.

Over the six-month period, the public health center increased participant satisfaction by offering not only online but also in-person programs, including three health checkups and one-on-one consultations with specialists in each field, an intensive physical activity program (Rapid Weight Change Exercise Class), health lectures on the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and a 'Healthy Meal' nutrition one-day class.

Additionally, participants were given various health goals such as walking more than 8,000 steps per day, staying adequately hydrated, and maintaining a balanced diet. Those who consistently managed their step count, diet, and weight-specifically the top 30% of outstanding participants-were rewarded with small prizes to further encourage engagement.

As a result, the program achieved significant improvements across key indicators among all 222 participants: a 111% registration rate, a 95% continued participation rate, and a satisfaction score of 86.1 points, all of which improved compared to the previous year. The rate of improvement in healthy behaviors (such as eating breakfast and engaging in physical activity) reached 49.8%, up 5.6% from last year.

One participant shared, "Thanks to the consistent counseling and feedback, I was able to maintain regular healthy habits," adding, "I hope these health programs will continue in the future."

In response, Gwangju Public Health Center Director Cho Jungho stated, "The mobile healthcare program is having a positive impact on improving citizens' healthy lifestyle habits," and added, "We will continue to create an environment where citizens can manage their own health by utilizing smart technology."

Meanwhile, the city plans to continue providing tailored health management services by operating additional checkups and programs in 2026, even after the program concludes in 2025, to ensure ongoing health management for participants.
