Cooperation on Jeollanam-do RISE Project and Specialized Talent Development
The Microbial Validation Support Center in Hwasun, South Jeolla Province, and the RISE Project Group at Mokpo National University joined forces on November 10 to promote the development of the local bioindustry and foster specialized talent.
According to the center on November 12, this agreement was pursued as part of a mutually beneficial partnership to strengthen the competitiveness of the regional bioindustry and establish a sustainable talent development system by linking the research infrastructure and expertise held by both institutions.
Under the agreement, the two organizations pledged to cooperate in various areas, including: collaboration on the Jeollanam-do RISE Project; sharing know-how in developing specialized talent; connecting educational courses and curricula; joint research and technology validation; supporting joint experiments and analyses using research equipment and facilities; and securing intellectual property rights for research outcomes, as well as cooperating on technology transfer and commercialization.
The Microbial Validation Support Center plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to further expand cooperation among industry, academia, and research institutions, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the bioindustry in South Jeolla Province. In particular, the center aims to lay the foundation for sustainable growth of the regional bioindustry through joint research and technology validation.
The RISE Project Group at Mokpo National University plans to strengthen the technological competitiveness of the bio and pharmaceutical industries in South Jeolla Province by expanding exchanges among industry, academia, and research institutions, and by promoting policies and research and development information to establish a sustainable cooperation network.
A representative from the center stated, "We will strengthen cooperation with local universities and research institutes to foster practical, field-oriented talent, and will continue to develop various collaborative models to drive innovation in the bioindustry of South Jeolla Province."
Meanwhile, in July, the Microbial Validation Support Center opened the largest GMP training facility in the Gwangju and South Jeolla region, providing a state-of-the-art training environment where participants can directly experience the entire process, from microbial cultivation to purification and quality control.
