NongHyup Financial Group Holds "Sharing Love through Kimjang Kimchi" Event

Chairman Chanwoo Lee Makes 1,000 Heads of Kimchi

NongHyup Financial Group announced on November 11 that it held the "Sharing Love through Kimjang Kimchi" event in Wangdaechu Village, Yeongguimi-myeon, Hongcheon, Gangwon Province.

Chanwoo Lee, Chairman of NongHyup Financial Group, and the financial group volunteer team worked alongside village residents to make approximately 1,000 heads of kimchi, putting in great effort. Afterwards, they held a meeting to listen to the voices and concerns of the rural community. The kimchi prepared that day will be delivered to welfare organizations on November 13, with delivery support from Yeongguimi NongHyup and transportation by the financial group volunteer team.

Since forming a sisterhood relationship with Wangdaechu Village in Hongcheon in 2013, NongHyup Financial Group has continued this kimchi-sharing event with the village for 13 consecutive years. In particular, they make kimchi using agricultural products produced in the sister village and deliver it each year to various vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, elderly people living alone, children, and single-mother households.

Chairman Chanwoo Lee stated, "It is even more meaningful to be able to share warmth with vulnerable groups through cooperation with our sister rural village," adding, "NongHyup Financial Group will continue to carry out a variety of social contribution activities that promote mutual growth with agriculture, rural communities, and the local community."
