Samhwa Paint Industrial jointly participated in the exhibition with On Corporation to localize the offshore wind power industry, which has a high dependence on foreign technology. Paint for offshore plants has mainly relied on imported products.
Samhwa Paint Industrial unveiled its anti-corrosion and corrosion-resistant paint for marine environments. These products are designed to suppress corrosion and provide high durability in harsh offshore conditions, and have obtained both the Norwegian offshore industry standard (NORSOK M-501) certification and ISO12944 certification.
NORSOK M-501 is an international standard used to determine whether a product has sufficient long-term durability for application to offshore structures, and is one of the essential certifications for the offshore wind power sector. In 2023, Samhwa Paint Industrial obtained this certification for a total of 10 products, marking its entry into the offshore plant paint business.
A company representative stated, “We expect this will not only advance technology development but also serve as an opportunity to enhance the development, independence, and competitiveness of the national energy industry,” adding, “Together with domestic partners, we will build a sustainable offshore wind power ecosystem.”
