Soonchunhyang University Gumi Hospital (Director Kim Sungho) recently received the highest Grade 1 rating in both the 'Tuberculosis Adequacy Assessment' and the 'Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Adequacy Assessment' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
The 'Tuberculosis Adequacy Assessment' evaluated all medical institutions nationwide that provided inpatient and outpatient care for tuberculosis patients from January to June 2024, based on five criteria, including the rate of tuberculosis bacteria confirmation tests, the rate of standard drug susceptibility tests, and the rate of rapid drug susceptibility tests.
As a result of the assessment, the hospital achieved a comprehensive score of 96.6 points, maintaining the highest Grade 1 rating for three consecutive years.
The 'Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Adequacy Assessment' comprehensively evaluated the treatment process and outcomes for COPD patients from January to December 2024, using seven indicators, including the rate of pulmonary function tests, the proportion of patients with continuous visits, and the proportion of patients with a history of hospitalization due to COPD.
Soonchunhyang University Gumi Hospital received a score of 90.2 points, significantly exceeding the overall average of 70.2 points, and achieved the highest Grade 1 rating for the second consecutive year.
Director Kim Sungho stated, "Tuberculosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are conditions where treatment and management are especially important, and I believe these assessment results demonstrate the high standard of care at our hospital." He added, "We will continue to strive to provide patient-centered medical services and the highest quality of care."
