Hallym University Concludes SW and AI Festival 'Hallym SW Week'
A Platform for Interdisciplinary Talent... Over 530 Students Participate with Enthusiasm
The "2025 8th Hallym SW Week," hosted by the Hallym University Software-Centered University Project Group (President Choi Yanghee), concluded successfully amid great interest and participation.

The event took place from November 3 to November 7, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). It served as a platform for sharing the latest trends in software and AI, expanding industrial value and applicability, and providing students with broad knowledge and experience.
The "2025 8th Hallym SW Week" opened on the 3rd with a welcoming address by Kim Sunjeong, Head of the Hallym University Software-Centered University Project Group, and a congratulatory speech by Hallym University President Choi Yanghee.
This year’s SW Week, under the slogan "Start at Hallym, Code Smartly, Leap to the World," featured exhibitions, competitions, and special lectures across a variety of integrated fields, including software, artificial intelligence, data science, and digital humanities and arts.
The SW exhibition attracted significant student interest with a wide range of works, including graduate research lab introductions, software capstone design projects, industry-academia collaboration projects, startup teams, C.Ae.Rang club demos, outstanding works from the Digital Humanities and Arts major, and projects from the Department of Data Science.
The SW competitions included the Hallym AI Competition, the Idea Hackathon, the Hallym Information Security Contest, the Hallym AI Arrangement Competition, and the AI Video Content Contest. In addition, the C.Ae.Rang club, the Digital Humanities and Arts major, and the Department of Data Science also participated in the competitions, allowing students to showcase their creative ideas and technical skills in each field.
The SW special lectures featured Professor Jung Song from KAIST with "Artificial Intelligence: What Is It and Where Is It Headed?" and Professor Park Hyunje from Hallym University with "Paving New Paths: An Internet Pioneer Speaks to Students," offering meaningful insights into the future of AI technology and digital society.
Notably, this year, club students from Chuncheon High School were invited to the event, sparking their interest in the software field. Instructor Lee Juwon delivered a special lecture titled "Doubt What You See: Digital Survival Skills in the AI Era," providing a valuable educational experience for the next generation.
In addition, the College of Information Science academic festival and the Department of Software coding test were held, strengthening both academic exchange and practical skills. A total of about 530 students participated, and the event concluded successfully with a highly positive response.
Kim Sunjeong, Head of the Software-Centered University Project Group, stated, "This SW Week was a festival that brought together students’ creativity and passion, and it demonstrated Hallym University’s commitment to becoming a hub for nurturing future software talent. Moving forward, the Software-Centered University Project Group will continue to expand various programs to foster interdisciplinary talent."
