Disappeared While Grandmother Was Away for About 30 Minutes
No Clues Found Despite Draining Reservoir in Search Efforts
A massive search operation has been underway for over a month in Australia to find a child who suddenly disappeared, but authorities are still struggling as no clues have been discovered. On November 5, Yonhap News TV, citing local Australian media such as 7News, reported that Australian investigative authorities plan to conduct a fourth search at the site where four-year-old boy August Gus Lamont went missing.

Previously, on September 27, Gus Lamont disappeared while playing outside his home on a farm near Yunta, a remote area in southern Australia, during a brief period of about 30 minutes when his grandmother was away. After the missing person report was filed, police and military forces were deployed, launching the largest search operation in South Australian history. Last week, investigators even drained 3.2 million liters of water from a nearby dam and sent in divers to search the reservoir, but found no trace of the boy.
The only clue found so far is a single footprint discovered on September 30. This footprint was located just 500 meters from where Gus was last seen. Police stated, "No evidence of a crime has been identified yet," but added, "All possibilities remain open." At the time of his disappearance, Gus had long, curly blond hair and was wearing a blue long-sleeved T-shirt with a Minion character, a gray hat, and boots. Meanwhile, the case has drawn enormous attention across Australia. Since the media coverage, all sorts of speculation and rumors have emerged. In response, Australian police have urged citizens not to call the tip line simply to express their opinions.
