The delegation held seminars and hands-on training sessions at the FN Pocheon bootcamp located within the Pocheon Business Center. They also organized a conference focused on promoting e-sports and online drone racing games. Additionally, the group plans to conduct an on-site inspection of the Hantan River Military Survival Field, which is expected to be used as an e-sports stadium in the future, to assess its potential for tournament operations and tourism integration.
In August, Pocheon City partnered with the FN Esport professional gaming team to establish the regionally based pro team, FN Pocheon. In its inaugural year, the team achieved notable results, including qualifying as Korea’s representative for the 2025 Saudi E-Sports World Cup.
Furthermore, in October, the city fostered a new growth industry by combining e-sports with the Hantan River World Drone Festival. Together with the FN Esport professional gaming team, they hosted a FIFA Mobile gaming tournament, a fan signing event with YouTubers, and a game character cosplay event.
Kim Oksun, Director of FN Esport professional gaming team, stated, "We will develop Pocheon into a global hub for e-sports," and added, "Next year, we will expand international exchange by hosting training programs in Pocheon for countries such as Thailand and those in the Middle East."
A Pocheon City official said, "We will establish the 'Pocheon-style e-sports value chain,' which connects team training, tournament operations, and tourism, to create local jobs, attract young people, and vitalize stay-type tourism."
Meanwhile, Pocheon City plans to regularly host specialized tournaments utilizing the natural scenery of the Hantan River as a stage, aiming to increase participation from both domestic and international amateur and professional teams.
