Uijeongbu Forest Achieves 90.8% Satisfaction Rate
Operations to Double in 2026... "Meditation Yoga" Receives Highest Praise
'Uijeongbu Forest,' the flagship wellness tourism program of Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun), successfully concluded its operations for the year 2025.
Uijeongbu Forest, which was held a total of 10 times this year, is a wellness program for both citizens and visitors from outside the city. According to a participant satisfaction survey, it achieved a high satisfaction rate of 90.8%.
Uijeongbu Forest was designed as an experiential program that goes beyond simple tourism, offering healing for both body and mind in the midst of nature.
Specifically, the program was structured to allow participants to experience the diverse charms of Uijeongbu with all five senses by linking ▲ Ja-il Forest Bath, where one can feel nature close to the city ▲ Jeil Market, which preserves the region’s unique culture ▲ a music and art library and a caf? tour course that provide emotional relaxation.
In the satisfaction survey for each experiential program, ▲ meditation yoga ▲ woodworking experience ▲ forest walking were rated highly in that order. In particular, the meditation yoga program received high marks from participants for offering a sense of relaxation even within the city, while the woodworking and forest walking programs were also well received for providing time to escape daily routines and connect with nature.
Additionally, the satisfaction analysis by location showed preferences in the following order: ▲ Ja-il Forest Bath ▲ Art Library ▲ Music Library ▲ Jeil Market ▲ Caf? Tour, indicating a strong preference for courses that harmonize nature and culture.
Participants left positive feedback such as, "Although it was a short schedule, I experienced ample rest and recovery," and "It was refreshing to enjoy both the local culture and nature together."
In particular, thanks to the high participation rate and enthusiastic response from citizens this year, the city plans to expand the number of sessions from the current 10 to 20, starting in April 2026.
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "We will continue to discover and operate a variety of programs so that Uijeongbu can establish itself as an urban wellness city that breathes together with its citizens."
