The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on November 6 that it will launch a joint task force with related agencies to support the safety and convenience of the Korean delegation participating in the '2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics', as well as Korean citizens attending the events.
Led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the task force will include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Unification, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, the Korean Paralympic Committee, the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation. The first meeting of the task force will be held on this day, presided over by Second Vice Minister Daehyun Kim.

During the task force meeting, members will comprehensively review the preparations to ensure that Korean athletes can perform at their best and participate safely in the competitions, and will communicate necessary cooperation items to the relevant agencies. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that, as this Winter Olympics and Paralympics will be jointly hosted by two cities and events will be distributed across a total of six cities for the first time, meticulous preparations will be made to ensure that the delegation encounters no inconvenience in participating in the competitions.
Plans to ensure the safety of Korean spectators and the operation of the Korea House, which will promote Korean culture to visitors from around the world at the Olympic venues, will also be discussed.
The 25th Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics (February 6-22, 2026) will feature approximately 5,000 athletes from over 90 countries competing in 116 events across 8 disciplines, while the 14th Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympics (March 6-15, 2026) will bring together about 600 athletes from over 50 countries competing in 79 events across 6 disciplines.
Second Vice Minister Daehyun Kim stated, "We will work closely with relevant agencies to provide comprehensive and systematic support so that our national athletes and coaches can fully demonstrate the skills they have honed and compete without regrets. In addition, we will ensure that the meal support center and Korea House, which will be operated locally for our delegation, are prepared without any setbacks."
