Sejong City Achieves 95.9% Distribution Rate in Second Round of Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons

With just ten days left until the application deadline for the second round of livelihood recovery consumption coupons distributed nationwide by the Lee Jaemyung administration, the distribution rate in Sejong City has reached 95.9%.

As of the 21st, out of 348,540 eligible recipients for the second round of consumption coupons, 334,205 have completed their applications. The total amount distributed so far is 33.4 billion won, which represents 95.9% of the total allocation of 34.8 billion won. Of this amount, an estimated 25.1 billion won (75%) has already been used.

The application period for the second round of consumption coupons runs until 6:00 p.m. on October 31 (or 4:00 p.m. for in-person visits to banks). The coupons are available to 90% of citizens, excluding the top 10% by income, with each individual eligible to receive 100,000 won.

Applications can be submitted online (through card company websites, apps, call centers, etc.) or offline (at township, town, and neighborhood administrative welfare centers, or affiliated bank branches). Appeals can be filed at administrative welfare centers, with the deadline also set for 6:00 p.m. on October 31.

The distributed consumption coupons can be used until November 30. Any unused coupons will automatically expire after the deadline. The city continues to operate a door-to-door application service for citizens who have difficulty applying on their own, such as those with disabilities or the elderly, to ensure that there are no blind spots in the distribution process.

Lee Seungwon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, stated, "As the application deadline approaches, we strongly encourage citizens who have not yet applied to do so. We hope this initiative will invigorate the local economy and lead to tangible results in livelihood recovery."

In the first round of consumption coupons, 383,815 out of 387,105 eligible recipients (99.2%) completed their applications, and 70.2 billion won (98.0%) out of the 71.6 billion won distributed was used.
