On October 22, Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced that it has selected the 'Simgok District' and 'Jangam 2 District' as the target areas for the 2026 cadastral resurvey project. The city has established an implementation plan for a total of 651 parcels, covering 373,539 square meters, and designated these areas as planned districts for the cadastral resurvey.

The Simgok District is an area densely populated with commercial buildings and residences near a military base, while the Jangam 2 District includes the Idong Township Office and Idong Middle School.

These areas were included in the project because the actual land use does not match the registered cadastral records, and ongoing boundary disputes and restrictions on property rights have persisted due to discrepancies in cadastral survey results. In particular, in 2023, a cadastral resurvey project was carried out in the area around Galbi Village in Jangam-ri, which improved the value of land use by resolving unauthorized occupation of state-owned land, regularizing land parcels, and addressing issues related to building encroachments.

Pocheon City has secured 140.73 million won in national funding for surveying costs for these two districts. Early next year, the city plans to hold resident briefings for each project district and, after obtaining the consent of at least two-thirds of landowners and two-thirds of the land area, will designate the areas as final cadastral resurvey districts. Subsequently, administrative procedures such as cadastral resurvey measurements, on-site participation for boundary setting, and preparation of cadastral records will be carried out in sequence.

A city official stated, "The cadastral resurvey project, which has been underway since 2012, has been progressing smoothly thanks to the active interest and cooperation of residents," adding, "We will continue to do our best to provide accurate cadastral information, resolve boundary disputes, protect citizens' property rights, and enhance the value of land."
