Hanam City Accepting Applications for '2025 Athlete Opportunity Income' Until December 5

The 'Athlete Opportunity Income' program is designed to provide athletes who contribute to community development and create social value through sports activities with an annual opportunity income of 1.5 million won per person, helping them establish a stable foundation for their activities.


Eligible applicants are athletes aged 19 or older who, as of July 1, 2025, have their resident registration in Gyeonggi Province and, as of the announcement date, reside in Hanam City. Applicants must also have a recognized individual income at or below 120% of the median income for 2025 (2,870,416 won per month) to qualify.


Qualification categories include: ▲active athletes ▲coaches ▲referees ▲athlete managers ▲sports administration personnel, and each category requires fulfillment of specific conditions such as competition participation, certifications, or employment history.


Applications can be submitted online (via the Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 website) or in person at the Sports Promotion Division on the 3rd floor of Hanam City Hall by 6:00 PM on December 5. After submission, applicants will undergo eligibility verification, including checks on income, assets, and criminal records related to sexual offenses. Selected recipients will be notified, and the support funds are scheduled to be distributed in December of this year.


A city official stated, "This Athlete Opportunity Income program is significant in creating an environment where athletes can continue their activities and in promoting a healthy sports culture among citizens," adding, "We hope for the active interest and participation of all athletes."
