Busan Office of Education: Educational Information Systems Operating Normally... Ongoing Inspection and Response for Some Functions

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on the 28th that, following the recent fire at the National Information Resources Service data center, major educational information systems such as NEIS and K-Edufine are currently accessible for login and basic use.

Since the fire broke out on the 27th, the Office of Education has implemented an emergency work system and has been fully focused on system inspection and resolving errors.

According to self-inspections conducted by each department on the morning of the 28th, most systems-including NEIS, K-Edufine, and Pen Messenger-are accessible, with only some specific functions operating on a limited basis.

In particular, the certificate issuance function linked to Government24 is still not operating smoothly, so certificates such as graduation certificates are being issued at the Office of Education’s civil service office and at the administrative offices of each school. In addition, disruptions in the integrated email service for public officials are affecting the work of some departments, and if the issue persists, the use of commercial email services will be considered.

The Office of Education has established a disaster response headquarters led by the Deputy Superintendent and is operating a 24-hour situation room. All schools have been instructed to maintain an emergency response system before and after the start of classes on the 29th to prepare for any unexpected errors, and to report any incidents immediately.

Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "Currently, the major systems are accessible for login and basic functions," adding, "We will closely monitor the situation and respond swiftly to ensure that the work of schools and institutions is not disrupted."
