In anticipation of the Chuseok holiday, fire safety inspections were conducted at the traditional markets in Jochiwon-eup and Jeonui Wangui Mul Market in Sejong City.
According to the Northern Fire Station of the Sejong Fire Headquarters on September 28, these efforts were carried out to prevent fire risks in advance and ensure public safety, as the number of visitors to traditional markets is expected to increase during the Chuseok holiday period. The inspections focused on identifying fire hazards within the markets and checking the accessibility of fire truck routes.
Additionally, fire prevention guidelines were provided to merchants, and it was decided to conduct late-night voluntary patrols in cooperation with autonomous fire brigades. As part of fire prevention measures for the Chuseok holiday, six fire safety inspection teams have been deployed to 37 locations, including traditional markets, multi-use facilities, and vulnerable residential areas, to reinforce safety inspections and on-site guidance.
Kim Jeonsu, Chief of the Northern Fire Station, stated, "To ensure a safe Chuseok holiday, it is essential for both merchants and citizens to actively practice fire prevention," adding, "We will continue our efforts to secure local safety and promote fire prevention awareness."
