This large-scale sports festival for all saw the participation of about 20,000 athletes from 31 cities and counties across Gyeonggi Province, who competed in 27 events including football, tennis, and gateball.

The city competed in 22 events, such as athletics, football, and gymnastics, providing an opportunity to promote public health as well as regional exchange and unity. Notably, Namyangju City won 38 medals in 15 events last year, and, building on that experience, set a goal for outstanding results again this year.

The opening ceremony on the 26th was attended by Vice Mayor Hong Jisun, city officials, executives and staff of the Namyangju City Sports Council, and the athlete delegation, who all gathered to encourage the athletes and celebrate the start of the festival together.

At the dinner following the opening ceremony, Vice Mayor Hong Jisun stated, "Sports for all is a healthy activity that anyone can enjoy, regardless of age or gender, and it serves as a foundation for civic unity. Taking this festival as an opportunity, we will further expand opportunities for citizens to participate in sports for all and promote even more active exchanges between regions."

The city plans to further strengthen the foundation for vibrant lives for its citizens through sports, using this event as a stepping stone.
