Hosted by the Gumi branch of World Vision and organized by the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Office of World Vision, the event allowed participants to walk 6 kilometers-the average distance African children travel to obtain water-so they could empathize with these hardships and donate their participation fees.

A total of 20 million won from the donations will be provided to cover winter heating costs for children from low-income families, while the remaining funds will be used to support clean water projects for children in Africa.

Kim Joungho, Mayor of Gumi, stated, "Every step taken in today's walk has become a source of clean water for children in Africa and warmth for children in Gumi. The city of Gumi will continue to support the happiness of our children and do our utmost to become a hopeful city where all citizens can smile."
